Can I avoid a cookie banner altogether?
Yes: switch to the cookieless script (data-cookieless attribute). No cookie is set, identity relies on a server-side daily hash, no IP ever stored — but it’s less accurate for long-term journeys. The default, cookie-based script stays the most reliable and probably needs a consent banner.
Can I exclude my own traffic?
Yes — exclusions by IP, path, hostname or country, applied before insertion: excluded traffic is never counted.
